I recently had the opportunity to revisit one the favorite video games of my childhood: LucasArts’ The Dig, a sci-fi puzzle adventure that’s both breathtakingly artistic and intellectually stimulating while also managing to remain extremely enjoyable. Lovers of Myst will enjoy both the challenge and the sense of wonder that LucasArts was able to infuse into this game before they moved to their current business model of “all Star Wars, all the time.”
Even better is the fact that The Dig is now playable on Windows XP and Vista and available on Steam for just five dollars. Do yourself a favor and download it for the weekend; I guarantee that it’ll be more fun and engrossing than any of those $65 games you just picked up for your Xbox 360.
